Pietism

The appearance of piety in public is often a false show of virtue, but should not always be taken as an intentional self-righteous act.

Although a certain righteousness is found within God's forgiven people, his only pure goodness is found in "His Things" - the Word and the Sacraments. Therefore, personal piety may or may not reflect good God things, but in any event it can serve as a cultural stream through the murky waters of a sinful world. Whether or not I'm guilty of a particular sin, it is incumbent upon me to disapprove of sinful behavior. If it is indeed a pet transgression of mine, I'm actually more likely to be able to call it to mind in a repentant state in spite of the risk of hypocrisy.

I want somebody and she's somebody.

The Law:

From Monday to Saturday... from that to this?

Lose yourself, in the Word, and in nothing that would ever, could ever, lead you away from it.

1 Cor. 7

10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:
11 But if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband. and let not the husband put away his wife.

The Gospel:

Thoughts unlimited, zeitgeist identical, knowing and furtive glances.. do or not equal a second look, the big push, the big exception.

Someone's else's art:

Do you know when you look at meIt is a salvationI've been waiting for you so longI can drive on that road forever?I wish you could exist to live on my planetWell it's very hard for me to say these things in your presenceSo how does it make you feel?

So how does it make you feel?Well,I really think you should quit smoking

J E-S M

Talk to her, don't leave her behind You shut her out for too long I know, 'cause I've seen her cry If you keep her down she'll get up and move on Wake up it's time Open your eyes You've got to let her know Stop wasting time Make up your mind Love her or let her go Talk to her, you've done something wrong We've all got something to hide But don't turn your back for too long There'll always be somebody waiting in line I could be all that she wants Got a heart, got a home, got a hand for her to hold Talk to her, there's something you'll find With all this pain that you caused You'll be the loser this time And I'll be the one with the girl that you lost Believe me she's leaving And I'll be the one, look what you lost

Matsu-sucka

It's Daisuke, not "Dice-K".

It would be kind of like if I was a Jew named Hosea, and I moved to Mexico, and everyone there got all excited and started shouting "Jose!" I mean, yeah, it's close, but that's not the right name.

The voices in my head

One day, the soothing voices that intone "insightful articles, practical advice" (Canticle Magazine spot girl) and "Jamie Tarabay, NPR news, Baghdad" (public radio newswoman), will, like Liz Copeland, no longer be heard.

It's going to be sad.
